20. Brentford – Matthew Benham (£3m)

Matthew Benham is the owner of Brentford FC as well as the Danish club FC Midtjylland. He made his millions from gambling firms. The childhood Brentford fan, Benham, took full control of the club in 2012. Matthew said he was able to bid his money on the team because he has been watching Brentford play since he was 11. He said he trusted the team completely and would still believe in them even if they cost him his money.

19. Leeds – Andrea Radrizzani (£344m)

Italian businessman Radrizzani purchased an initial 50 percent stake of Leeds United in January 2017, before taking full control from previous owner Massimo Cellino four months later. Radrizzani made a great amount of his wealth with his investment firm Aser Ventures, which he launched in 2015. He has now sold 37% of the club’s stake to 49ers Enterprises.

18. Nottingham Forest – Evangelos Marinakis (£505m)

Evangelos Marinakis is a Greek media tycoon and bought Nottingham Forest in 2017 given his keen interest in football. Five years on from its acquisition, Nottingham Forest has returned to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years. He has pledged to provide the investment required for the club to sustain itself in the Premier League.

Bloom became chairman of the Seagulls in 2009 and in that time he has overseen their rise from League One to the Premier League. A new stadium and a side playing very attractive football. You can’t argue with his investment. He is one of the richest Premier League club owners.

Russian-born British businessman Maxim Victorovich became the co-owner of AFC Bournemouth in 2011 before entirely buying the club soon after. The club has continued to increase expenditure on transfers ever since.

15. West Ham – David Sullivan and David Gold (£1.62bn)

West Ham owners Sullivan and Gold have been at the east London club for more than a decade, having taken over during the 2009/10 season. Gold and his daughters are worth £470m according to the Sunday Times, while Sullivan – his business partner in the adult magazine industry, is worth £1.15bn.

14. Everton – Farhad Moshiri (£1.9bn)

Moshiri was previously involved at Arsenal but sold his stake in the club to complete a takeover of Everton, which was officially confirmed in February 2016. He owns and has shares in multiple steel and energy companies in the UK and Russia.
