8 Players West Ham Could Sign In January
With the January transfer window on the door, rumours have already started surrounding players that West Ham could be interested in. Despite the improvement in recent weeks, Moyes knows he must improve his team in January to give the Hammers every chance of staying up.

Theo Walcott
Walcott is barely playing for Arsenal this season – he wasn’t in the matchday 16 for the 0-0 draw between the two sides in midweek. The England winger is not wanted by boss Arsene Wenger, and is free to leave if a suitable offer comes.
The 28-year-old has been a bit-part figure this season, making very few appearances, mostly in cup competitions. Moyes has plenty of attacking options but could dispense with Diafra Sakho or Andre Ayew, meaning Walcott could be an ideal replacement.
Jack Wilshere
Midfield has been a problem for West Ham for some time now with a lack of class in the engine room. Mark Noble remains a popular player on the stands but even the most ardent Hammer accepts that his time as a top-level payer has probably gone which means reinforcements in the middle are essential. West Ham boss David Moyes has admitted he would be interested in signing Jack Wilshere in January if the Arsenal midfielder is made available.
Wilshere has been largely limited to Europa League appearances and the occasional substitute role in the Premier League for the Gunners this season. Moyes, who believes the January transfer window is vital if West Ham are to climb away from relegation trouble.
Marouane Fellaini
The Manchester United midfielder could leave the club on a free transfer next summer after he reportedly refused the contract they offered him in September. His current deal runs out at the end of the season and that has led to speculation that he could reunite with David Moyes at West Ham United in January.
The two worked together at Everton before Moyes brought him to Old Trafford, while the Belgian has previously admitted crying when the Scotsman was sacked from his job at Manchester United.
A hungry Fellaini could be just the fit for West Ham and given that Moyes brought him to Everton and Manchester United, a reunion could be on the cards. Red Devils are still favourites to convince the Belgian to stay but no doubt Moyes will be ready to pounce if he does leave Old Trafford.

Olivier Giroud
Giroud will have the World Cup at the forefront of his mind and regular football between now and the end of the season must be high on his priority list as he looks to make the French squad for Russia.
The well documented West Ham search for a striker has been on-going for a number of years now, and in Giroud they would finally be getting a proven Premier League forward who knows how to find the back of the net. Since arriving in England, Giroud has scored 73 goals and with the likes of Sakho, Hernandez and Carroll continuing to struggle, he looks the ideal man to come in and boost the cause.
Wenger has said he is keen to keep the former Lille man but when push comes to shove, Giroud will be desperate to play in the World Cup and a loan move to West Ham might just suit all three parties.
Lamine Kone
A defender who worked with David Moyes at Sunderland, Kone was also linked when Slaven Bilic was in charge.
West Ham are the favourites to scoop up the centre back given that he isn’t a starter at the Championship strugglers and could prefer return to the Premier League.
Harry Arter
Arter, 27, has been in and out of Eddie Howe’s Cherries side lately to raise doubts about his long-term future just months after he signed a new deal. Arter has been a major part of the Bournemouth success story and usually a first pick under Howe. But this has been the toughest campaign of his career.
Moyes is a big fan of the competitive Ireland star who would put muscle in his midfield. However, Bournemouth themselves are keen to keep hold of Arter, given that they themselves may yet be dragged into a relegation battle.

Vedran Corluka
Lokomotiv Moscow captain Vedran Corluka is an experienced head who could help fix David Moyes’ defensive problems.
The Croatian international has developed into a leader during his time in Russia. He’s mainly a centre-half but he can also play at right-back. He knows the Premier League as he took in a successful spell at Tottenham Hotspur and also represented Manchester City.
Daniel Sturridge
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has informed experienced striker Daniel Sturridge that he can leave the club in January, with the former Manchester City and Chelsea striker seeking first-team opportunities ahead of the World Cup this summer.
Sturridge has found himself behind both Roberto Firmino and Dominic Solanke in the club’s pecking order this season, putting his hopes of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad in real danger.
The 28-year-old has struggled in recent seasons through injuries but is aiming to turn a corner and could find better fortunes in East London, with a Hammers side who need attacking reinforcements.
