3) Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.

The club was founded in 1901, initially as Brighton & Hove United but changed its name to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. They then started to compete in Southern League which they won once in 1910, they won FA Charity Shield in the same season. They play in the Premier League and are also known as The Seagulls. Brighton were at the top of their fame between 1979 and 1983 when they played in the First Division and were the runner-up of the 1983 FA Cup, losing to Manchester United. Due to financial difficulties in the late 1990’s they were demoted down to the fourth division league. They are one of the biggest football clubs in South-East England.

2) Portsmouth F.C.

Portsmouth have been the champion of England on two occasions; winning the first division football league in 1949 and 1950. The club has also won the FA cup two times, most recently in 2008. They have played in Europe in only one season in 2008-09. Portsmouth was in an economic crisis in the late 2000s but that was over in 2011. The club is situated in Portsmouth which is situated in Portsea Island and is outside the mainland of Great Britain meaning that it is the only club in English professional football which is not located on the mainland of Great Britain.

Founded in 1885, the club has been known as The Saints ever since due to its history as a church football team. The club currently plays in the top tier of English football. Southampton is also one of the founding members of the Premier League. They have been playing most of the time in the top flight since their promotion in 1966. They spent continuous 27 years in the top tier from 1978 to 2005. The club has not won much silverware to its name but have been constant as they very seldom get relegated. The club has won Football League Division One in 1983-84.
