3. John Dick [Goals-166, Apps-351]

Born in Glasgow, John Dick became a prolific goalscorer for West Ham United. He joined West Ham in 1953 from Crittall Athletic while on National Service.

John spent nine years at the club, making 351 appearances for the club, mainly at inside left. He scored 166 goals for West Ham in all competitions, placing him joint third on the club’s all-time top scorers list. He eventually moved to Brentford for an incoming record £17,500 transfer fee.

2. Geoff Hurst [Goals-252, Apps-502]

Geoff Hurst is widely remembered as the only man to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final as England recorded a 4–2 victory over West Germany at the old Wembley in 1966.

Hurst’s footballing career began when he was apprenticed to West Ham United at the age of 15 and turned professional at the club four months later. He went on to make 502 appearances for the club scoring 252 goals in the process.

Hurst won the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965 during his time with the club. He was voted Hammer of the Year thrice in 1965/66, 1966/67, and 1968/69. He was awarded West Ham United Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.

1. Vic Watson [Goals-326, Apps-505]

Watson is the club’s record goalscorer with 326 goals. 203 of his league goals were from 295 top-flight appearances. He scored 13 hat-tricks while at West Ham.

Vic was brought from Wellingborough for just £50 in 1920. He once scored six, in an 8-2 home win against Leeds on 9 February 1929, scored four goals on three occasions. He left the club for Southampton in 1936.
