As well as being one of the first players to move to the Etihad Stadium after the UAE takeover, he was also one of the first signings made by Claudio Ranieri in the summer of Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea takeover.

Bridge struggled to establish a place for himself at both Chelsea and Manchester City and was kept out of the team by ex-Arsenal pair Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy respectively. However, he did make 200 combined appearances for both clubs.

His tenure in London was a successful one, trophy-wise, winning a Premier League title, FA Cup and League Cup in six-and-a-half seasons.

Daniel Sturridge came through the ranks at Manchester City but failure to get regular opportunities saw him move to Stamford Bridge in 2009. With Chelsea, the England international won the Premier League, two FA Cups and the Champions League but was never able to establish himself as a starter.

With Nicolas Anelka, Demba Ba, Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres all in front of him for selection at one time or another, he joined the Reds in January 2013. At Liverpool, he become one of the best strikers in the league before injuries ruined his career.

Of the numerous Premier League sides former France forward Anelka played for, he stayed the longest at these two. He spent two-and-a-half seasons with Man City (2002-05) and was their main man upfront with 37 goals in 89 outings.

Anelka then had four years with Chelsea (2008-12), where he was quite successful. The Frenchman became a Premier League, FA Cup and Golden Boot winner at Stamford Bridge.
