6. Bob McPhail
A prolific goal-scoring forward, Bob McPhail can be considered one of the greatest Rangers players of the pre Second World War era. McPhail was signed by Rangers in 1927 for a then substantial fee of £5,000 and went on to become one of the most prolific strikers ever to play for the club, scoring 261 goals in 408 appearances. McPhail enjoyed 12 years with Rangers, winning nine League championships and six Scottish cups.
5. Willie Reid
Willie Reid signed for Rangers in 1909 and made his debut in the 1909 Scottish Cup Final replay against Celtic. He won three successive league titles. He was the club’s top scorer for six consecutive seasons between 1910 and 1916. Reid Scored 195 goals in 230 official matches for the club.
4. Jimmy Fleming
Jimmy Fleming’s Rangers’ career lasted for nine years, from 1925 to 1934. The prolific centre-forward scored 223 goals for the club in just 268 games. He currently holds the record for the most Scottish Cup goals scored by a Rangers player, with 44.
Jimmy Fleming scored 27 hat tricks in his Rangers career, no other Rangers player has recorded more. During the 1934-35 season, he joined Ayr United and helped them to avoid relegation.
