7 Players That Aston Villa Could Sign In January

Villa are among the clubs monitoring Arsenal striker Nketiah, 22, who wants to quit north London. The forward is out of contract in the summer and the latest reports suggest that he has decided against putting pen to paper on a new deal.

Brentford and Leeds United have also shown interest in the player. Villa could get him for cheap if a move is made in the January transfer window.

2. Takumi Minamino

Chances have been very limited for the Japanese international this season after returning from a mid-season loan spell with Southampton.

Villa already have plenty of options in wide-forward positions, but Minamino would bring something different. A mid-season move to Villa would be a good move for the Liverpool midfielder, as his high tempo and energy play would match the style of players around him such as the likes of Leon Bailey, John McGinn and Danny Ings.

1. Joe Aribo

Aribo, or the left-footed Yaya Toure as he’s been labelled by close pal Konsa, has been on Villa’s radar before. Working under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, a legendary midfielder himself, has brought Aribo’s game on leaps and bounds.

Having initially signed him for Rangers from Charlton, Gerrard has been very vocal in his praise of the midfielder. With a good offer, a deal could be made.
