10 Worst West Brom Managers Of All Time

3. Brian Little

Former Aston Villa manager Brian Little was appointed as manager of the Baggies in August 1999. West Brom were in Division One, the second tier of English football, at that time. His stint saw him in charge for 41 games. He won eight of his matches, drawing 18, and losing 15 times.

Little couldn’t get the best out of his squad, though his task was made much more difficult with the departure of Kevin Kilbane and Enzo Maresca, Albion’s two best midfielders at the time. He was sacked in March 2000 after a run of poor results.

2. Pepe Mel

Pepe Mel previously had success in previous roles with the likes of Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis, and West Brom fans were expecting the same from him. However, his stint was a complete disaster in the Midlands.

The Spaniard only won three of the 17 games managed, achieving 15 points in the process and just surviving relegation by a whisker. He was released a day after the season concluded.

1. Alan Pardew

Alan Pardew became the manager of the club in November 2017, with the club already in shambles. The former Newcastle manager only made the matter worse with rumours of him having upset a number of the first-team players early into his reign.

But it was the performances and results which were the main concern for Baggies fans. Pardew managed just one league win in 18 games, culminating in his side taking just eight points from a possible 54. He was sacked in April 2018, but the damage was already done and the club was relegated, finishing 20th.

Dishonourable mentions – Steve Bruce, Don Howe, Denis Smith, Alan Buckley & Tony Pulis
