Ron Saunders was the first manager to have taken charge of Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion, the three rival clubs of West Midlands. West Brom was his last club as a manager and it wasn’t a fruitful one.

He managed West Brom from February 1986 until September 1987, overseeing 64 games throughout that time. Saunders lost 31 games while in charge, winning just 14 of them. These stats alone are good enough reason to name him among the worst West Brom managers of all time.

Stiles was an English football legend but his tenure as Baggies’ manager was a forgetful one. He took charge from September 1985 until February 1986 and won just three times in 21 games in that period.

His win percentage of 14.29 is the worst in the club’s history. Later, he disclosed that he had battled depression while managing West Brom, finding it difficult to handle the demands of his profession in the Midlands and his daily journey from his home in Manchester.

4. Sam Allardyce

Allardyce has gained a reputation as a “survival specialist”, keeping a host of teams in the Premier League against the odds, however, he wasn’t able to do so while in charge of West Brom.

He took over the managerial post in December 2020, intending to keep the club in the Premier League. The club finished 19th in the league with with Allardyce winning just four of his 26 games in charge, of all competitions whilst losing a further 14 times in the process.
