Jackie was the leading scorer for Newcastle before Alan Shearer overtook him. He scored an astonishing 200 goals for the Magpies and enjoyed some serious success with them. He won 3 FA Cups during his stay and scored the fastest FA Cup Final goal in 1955. Milburn was known for his shooting prowess, and most of his goals were long-range thunderbolts from outside the box.

CF: Hughie Gallacher [1925-30] [174 appearances]

Hughie was a little dynamite up front for the Magpies. Standing a mere 5’5″ tall, Hughie could score goals from all park areas. In addition, he enjoys an unbelievable 82 per cent strike-rate. His best season was in 1926-27 when he netted 36 times in 38 games to take the Magpies to the title.

ST: Alan Shearer [1906-2006] [405 appearances]

Alan Shearer is the most famous Newcastle poster boy to play for the club. He was a goal-scoring machine and is their all-time highest scorer. Alan scored in the double digits in each of his ten seasons at the club. He loved his hometown, and his passion was evident when he turned down a world-record transfer offer from Manchester United.
