10 Worst Wolves Football Managers Ever
6) Graham Hawkins
Graham Hawkins has the 8th worst win percentage in the Wolves history of managers. He spent almost 2 years with Wolves being the manager for 90 games. He won only 26 of those games and lost a total of 36 games with a win percentage of 28.9 %.
Hawkins played for Wolves in his playing career, in fact, he started his career with the club in 1964 and after retirement started managing Wolves in 1982. The English coach did manage to get the team promoted but was relegated in the very next season and he was eventually sacked after a run of only 1 win in 14 games.
5) Mark McGhee
The Scottish manager did not have a very bad win percentage but his tactics were drastic and were no good for the team. The team was very inconsistent under him. At one stage they seemed to be solid playoff contenders but at the end of the season finished 20th which was just 3 points clear of relegation from Division One.
The club was already in a bad place with very little hope for promotion when he joined. He gave the team a good start but, in the end, failed to win any of their final 8 games.
4) Stale Solbakken
Solbakken was the first non-British manager in the history of the club and Wolves was the first British team for Solbakken to manage. Hopes were high when he was appointed that he would take the team back to the top flight but that didn’t quite happen. The team started doing the exact opposite. He took charge of the club on 11 May 2012 to pick up the mess created by Terry Conor. He was sacked 7 months after his appointment when his team got eliminated from FA Cup in 2013.
