Inter Milan is one of the biggest club in Italy. They may not be the same club as they were few years back but they have a rich history to be proud of. 10. Tarcisio Burgnich

Burgnich was a strong, large, quick, and energetic player. He was one of the greatest Italian defenders of his time. His physique and ability in the air earned him the nickname ‘The Rock’ (La Roccia).

He joined Inter Milan in 1962 and was a member of manager Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter side. He partnered with fellow full-back Giacinto Facchetti in the squad’s back-line and played a key role in the team’s successes in Herrera’s defensive catenaccio system.

Burgnich had pace, stamina, offensive capabilities, and defensive work-rate. He won four Serie A titles, two European Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups in his 12 years with the club. He is beyond doubt, one of the greatest Inter Milan players ever.

9. Diego Milito

Milito was known for his offensive movements and ability in the air, and was capable of finishing well with his head as well as both feet, despite being naturally right-footed. He was a quick, dynamic, and technically gifted forward, with good vision, composure, and an eye for goal.

His prolific goalscoring exploits with Genoa earned him a move to defending Serie A champions Inter, where he was pivotal in the club’s 2009–10 treble-winning season scoring 32 goals in all competitions including two goals in the 2010 UEFA Champions League Final against Bayern Munich.

8. Roberto Boninsegna

As a player, Boninsegna was a powerful, agile and acrobatic striker, who was known for his accurate finishing ability and intelligence. He was a prolific goalscorer, who excelled in the air, despite not being particularly tall or imposing physically.

Third in Inter’s all-time goalscoring rankings with 171 strikes in 281 matches, ‘Bonimba’ was a veritable goal machine and the prototype of a penalty area poacher. He won the Scudetto once with Inter, a year after finishing as runners-up in the 1970 World Cup with Italy.

7. Alessandro Altobelli

Altobelli was one of the greatest and most effective Italian strikers of the late 1970s and 1980s. A well-rounded centre-forward, he excelled in the air due to his heading accuracy. He had power, agility and acrobatic ability; he was also a fast and opportunistic player with good technique and an accurate shot.

Altobelli was signed by Internazionale in 1977, for whom he played 466 times, scoring 209 goals. He contributed heavily to his team’s scudetto victory of 1980, and also helped Inter to win two Coppa Italia titles in 1978 and 1982, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer in the 1982 edition, with 9 goals. Altobelli was also the top scorer in the 1978–79 European Cup Winners’ Cup, with 7 goals, leading Inter to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

6. Walter Zenga

An aggressive and athletic goalkeeper, Zenga was known for his shot-stopping abilities, reactions, bravery, and in particular for his agility.

He is considered the best goalkeeper in Inter history. Nicknamed ‘Spiderman’ for his reflexes in-goal, his performances helped to define an era for the club. He won one Scudetto, two Uefa Cups and one Supercoppa Italiana, making him one of the greatest Inter Milan players ever.

He was voted IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper for 3 consecutive years between 1989 and 1991.
