10. Terry Venables
Terry Venables won the FA Cup with Spurs, both as a player and as a manager. He was appointed as the head coach of the club in 1987, after a good spell at Barcelona.
His success with the Spurs team was varied, with the side finishing in mid-table for most of his tenure, though they did win the FA Cup in 1991 and finished third in the league in 1990. Venables had brought both Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne to Spurs.
9. John Cameron
Cameron was signed by Frank Brettell as a player for Tottenham Hotspur in May 1898. In February 1899 he succeeded Brettell when he became player-manager and enjoyed instant success when, in his first game in charge, Tottenham became the first lower-division club ever to come from behind against top-flight opposition to win an FA cup tie with Cameron himself scoring the winning goal against Sunderland.
In 1900 he led Tottenham to the Southern Football League title and in 1901 led them to victory in the FA Cup final. After drawing 2–2 with Sheffield United, Tottenham eventually won the replay with Cameron scoring the opening goal in a 3–1 win. As a result, Tottenham became the only club outside the English League to win the competition.
Under Cameron, the club also finished as runners-up in the Southern League in 1902 and 1904. During his career with the club, Cameron scored 139 goals in 293 appearances, including 43 goals in 111 appearances in the Southern League. He resigned as Tottenham manager in March 1907.
8. Peter McWilliam
Peter McWilliam managed Tottenham Hotspur for two spells, between 1912–1927 and 1938–1942. His first spell was disrupted by First World War, but when football resumed, he led Spurs through one of its successful periods. They won the Second Division title, FA Cup, Charity Shield and finished runners-up in the First Division.
During his second spell, he started to rebuild the team in an attempt to lift them out of the Second Division. He promoted many younger players to the first team including Bill Nicholson. However, his managerial career was once again disrupted by World War. By the time the war ended, he was too old and retired from management. 7. Antonio Conte
Conte is relatively new, having only spent nine months as the manager of Tottenham. However, during this short period of time, he took the club from ninth place to fourth, thus earning Champions League football at the expense of neighbours and rivals Arsenal.
