Players With The Most Premier League Hat-tricks

Nearly 250 hat-tricks have been scored in the Premier League. More than 100 players have scored hat-trick in Premier League. The first hat-trick was scored by Leeds United’s Eric Cantona in August 1992. In this article, we will have a look at players with the most Premier League Hat-tricks.

Here is the list of players with the most Premier League hat-tricks-

5 Players have scored 5 hat-tricks in the Premier League. They are –

Dimitar Berbatov

Berbatov scored his hat-tricks against Reading (29 December 2007), Liverpool (19 September 2010), Blackburn Rovers (27 November 2010), Birmingham City (22 January 2011) and Wigan Athletic (26 December 2011).

Andy Cole

Andy Cole bagged his  Premier League hat-tricks against Liverpool (1 November 1993), Coventry City (23 February 1994), Ipswich Town (4 March 1995), Barnsley (25 October 1997) and Newcastle United (30 August 1999).

Ruud van Nistelrooy

His hat-tricks were against Southampton (22 December 2001), Newcastle United (23 November 2002), Fulham (22 March 2003), Charlton Athletic (3 May 2003) and Leicester City (27 September 2003).

Robin van Persie

RVP scored his hat-tricks against Wigan Athletic (22 January 2011), Chelsea (29 October 2011), Blackburn Rovers (4 February 2012), Southampton (2 September 2012) and Aston Villa (22 April 2013).

Ian Wright

Ian Wright scored his hat-tricks against Ipswich Town (5 March 1994), Southampton (19 March 1994), Ipswich Town (15 April 1995), Sheffield Wednesday (16 September 1996) and Bolton Wanderers (13 September 1997).

8. Luis Suarez [6 hat-tricks]

Suarez has a sensational player during his time with Liverpool. In 2014, he was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year as well as winning the Premier League Golden Boot. He also shared the European Golden Shoe with Cristiano Ronaldo. His form was the reason Liverpool came so close to winning the Premier League in 2014.

Luis Suarez scored his hat-tricks against Norwich City (28 April 2012), again Norwich City (29 September 2012), Wigan Athletic (2 March 2013), West Bromwich Albion (26 October 2013), Norwich City (4 December 2013) and Cardiff City (22 March 2014).

With 3 hat-tricks against Norwich, he is the only player to score 3 hat-tricks against a single-club.

7. Wayne Rooney [7 hat-tricks]

Widely considered to be one of the best players of his generation, Rooney is the record goalscorer for both the England national team and Manchester United. Rooney’s 208 Premier League goals make him the Premier League’s second top scorer of all time behind only Alan Shearer. He also has the third-highest number of assists in the Premier League, with 103.

Rooney’s hat-tricks were against Bolton Wanderers (28 October 2006), Portsmouth (28 November 2009), Hull City  (23 January 2010), West Ham United (2 April 2011), Arsenal (28 August 2011), Bolton Wanderers (10 September 2011) and West Ham (29 November 2017).
