Three-time Premier League winner Jose Mourinho has had three spells in the Premier League. Mourinho started his Premier League career in London when he was named manager of Chelsea in June 2004, before leaving early in the 2007/08 campaign.

He returned to the Blues on 3 June 2013, and won the Premier League in the 2014-15 seasons. The following season, he was sacked by Chelsea after a disastrous start to the campaign.

In May 2016, Mourinho signed a three-year deal as manager of Manchester United. In his first season in charge the club won the Community Shield, the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

The Red Devils finished second behind their city rivals in 2017/18 and lost the FA Cup final to Mourinho’s former club, Chelsea. Mourinho left Manchester United in December 2018, with the club lying in sixth place after 17 matches. He is one of the most successful Premier League managers ever.

Ancelotti’s two seasons in the Premier League are a wonderful example of Chelsea in their sublime, hiring/firing pomp. First season: Premier League and FA Cup double. Next season: second in the league to Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United. Result: you’re fired, Carlo. Who wouldn’t raise an eyebrow at such stratospheric standards?

The Italian’s excellent win percentage pays homage to his strong league form, although what got him the boot was not impressing enough in the Champions League.

3. Alex Ferguson

Most observers would rank the Scot as the most successful Premier League gaffer ever, having won just the 13 titles. How can he be just third here? Well, one reason is the fluctuations of managing for 20+ years – there are bound to be dips.

Ferguson ended Man Utd’s 26-year wait for a top-flight title in the inaugural Premier League season of 1992/93. He went on to enjoy unprecedented success over the next two decades until his retirement at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

During his reign at Old Trafford, Ferguson also won the FA Cup five times and the League Cup on four occasions. United also claimed two UEFA Champions League trophies under his management, including the 1999 win in Barcelona with two stoppage-time goals in a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich.

In total, he lifted more than 30 trophies in his time in charge at Old Trafford. His all-time Premier League record stands at 528 wins from 810 matches.

Arguably the best manager in the world, Pep Guardiola has been the Manchester City manager since the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

The Spanish coach signed a deal to replace Manuel Pellegrini during the 2015/16 season and officially took charge over the summer after leaving Bayern Munich. He did not win any trophies in his first season in-charge of the club.

However, in the next campaign, he broke the Premier League record for most consecutive wins, with 18 victories between August and December 2017. Guardiola lifted his first trophy in England following a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the 2018 Carabao Cup final.

The Citizens dominated throughout the 2017/18 Premier League season, with Guardiola securing his first league title in English football with a record of 106 goals, 32 wins and 100 points.

The following season in 2018-19, City became the first team to win the English domestic treble. His next mission will be to win the first UCL title for Manchester City.
