When is the big game?
Liverpool host Everton at Anfield with kick-off scheduled for 2:15pm GMT,3:15 pm BST on Sunday, December 10.
Jurgen Klopp and Sam Allardyce will both head into Sunday’s Merseyside derby full of confidence as Liverpool host Everton at Anfield.
Liverpool are on a superb run of form having scored 15 goals in their last three games in all competitions, but still trail Premier League leaders Manchester City by 14 points.
Everton initially looked to be heading for a relegation battle after a terrible start to the season following a summer spending spree, but the Toffees have won their last two League games without conceding a goal to quickly climb to 10th in the table.
Sam Allardyce has been drafted in at Goodison Park, and the former England boss is the last manager to claim an away win at Anfield having shocked Liverpool with Crystal Palace last season.
Early Team News
Alberto Moreno is doubtful for the derby after sustaining an injury in Wednesday’s 7-0 Champions League win over Spartak Moscow.
Should the Spaniard miss out, James Milner will likely deputise at left-back. Simon Mignolet is expected to return in goal after Loris Karius started against Spartak.
Allardyce is unlikely to switch from the Everton XI which has beaten West Ham 4-0 and Huddersfield 2-0, though Michael Keane is in contention to start.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits an injury to Alberto Moreno has cast a “shadow” over his side’s emphatic midweek win in the Champions League.The Reds smashed seven unanswered goals past Spartak Moscow at Anfield on Wednesday night to secure top spot in Group E and safe passage to the knockout stage of the competition.However, the victory was marred by an injury to Moreno, who was forced off shortly before half-time after turning his ankle.
The Spaniard, who has received praise from his manager for his improved performances this season, left the pitch in tears but Klopp is hopeful the defender will be fit to face Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
“We had a little shadow on the night when Alberto Moreno needed to get substituted. It was a strange situation,” said Klopp.
“He is a tough guy and if he cannot continue the game then you should consider it could be something serious.
“In the treatment room then, he was a little bit more positive, so maybe we are lucky and it’s not too serious. We will see.
“We need all the boys, we need all the boys for the next few weeks, but especially in this week for the next game on Sunday.”
Philippe Coutinho scored a hat-trick in the win over Spartak, while Sadio Mane (2), Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah also got on the scoresheet as Liverpool recorded their second 7-0 European win of the campaign.
“We showed tonight that we learned from the mistakes we made in Sevilla – now we have to show we have learned from the mistakes after Maribor when we faced Tottenham,” said Klopp.”We will be ready again on Sunday and if the crowd is ready to help us it would be nice again.”

Coutinho v Gueye
Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker Coutinho has been in scintillating form of late, notching his first hat-trick for the club in midweek. His return to top form has been the catalyst for the Anfield club’s six-match unbeaten Premier League run (W5, D1) since their 4-1 defeat at Spurs.
Idrissa Gueye has made more than twice as many tackles than any other Everton player this season, and will be looking to make sure Coutinho doesn’t get any freedom in that hole between Everton’s midfield and defence.
Lovren v Rooney
Everton’s top goalscorer Wayne Rooney will be looking forward to his first Merseyside derby since 2004, during his first stint at his boyhood club. He’s sure to be fired up and full of confidence after scoring from inside his own half against West Ham last weekend. Dejan Lovren looks to have been playing through the pain barrier lately, but has been central in Liverpool’s three clean sheets during their six-match unbeaten run of late.

Last time Everton won was at the Goodison Park in 2010-11 season.Since then they have been searching for a win after losing seven of their last fourteen Derbies and drawing the rest seven.Last time these two sides met at Anfield Liverpool came out victorious 3-1 thanks to goals from Mane,Coutinho and Origi.Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five games and Everton has lost only once in their last five games.
