Being a football fan today can be a very expensive hobby. The majority of English top flight clubs charge their supporters an absolute fortune to come and watch their games at their stadium every week. It’s getting to the point where many fans are forced to just stay at home and watch the game on TV rather than forking out huge amounts of cash to watch their team in action. But its not the same everywhere ,prices differ from clubs to clubs and leagues to leagues. To find clubs that charge the most ,we have ranked top 20 European clubs in order of season ticket prices.

20. West Ham – 289

The cheapest season ticket at the London Stadium was priced at just £289, which is same as the season before. The club switched from the 35,000-capacity Boleyn Ground (Upton Park) at the end of the 2015-16 season. Since then , The Hammers have an existing 52,000 season-ticket holders at the London Stadium

19. Stoke City – 294

Stoke City have held season ticket prices for 10 years, dating back to when the club were in the Championship. Potters’ cheapest deal remains at the £294 some fans were paying to watch Championship football in 2007/08.

18. Manchester City – 299

City offers various price bands at the Etihad – with the lowest remaining at £299 a ticket in the South Stand. Total of 2000 of those were available, which average at a cost of under £16 a game. Only West Ham, Huddersfield and Stoke offer cheaper options in English football’s top flight.

17. Burnley – 329

Burnley Football Club froze the season tickets prices for the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign. The cheapest season tickets were available for £329 under Early Bird scheme. The standard ticket prices after the early bird scheme were £390. Burnley have decided to freeze the prices one again for 2018-19 season. Supporters can once again book the season ticket for just £329 until 31st March.

15. Leicester City – 365

Leicester City froze season ticket renewals for the 2017/18 season for a third consecutive year. Season Ticket renewal period was from 8 May 2017 to 3 June, 2017.

14. West Brom – 380

Albion offered an early bird season ticket that was 5% cheaper 2016-17 campaign’s price in an effort to lure fans back to The Hawthorns. The cheapest adult season ticket for 2017/18 was £380, which is down from previous year’s £399 and equates to exactly £20 per game.

Watford announced an average rise of 4% for most of the 14,500 season-ticket holders at Vicarage Road next season. Although around 3,000 fans paid the same as they did in 2016/17.

Juventus offered their cheapest season ticket for £407.41 that is less than half the price of Arsenal’s. As cheap as it may seem, it is the most expensive in Serie A.

Swansea City season froze the ticket prices for 2017-18. An adult ticket started from a cost of £419, a senior citizen pass from £279 and under-16 packages from as little as £69. Swansea once again announced another freeze on the season ticket prices for the 2018-19 campaign ,but only for those who renewed it before 31st Dec 2017.

10. Crystal Palace – 420

Crystal Palace’s most inexpensive option is of £420 ,which is less than other London PL clubs apart from West Ham.

Everton freezed and even reduced their season ticket prices for the 2017-18 season with the cheapest one costing £420. That’s £44 less than the average for the equivalent tickets at other top flight clubs (£464). It also means that Everton’s cheapest season tickets are marginally cheaper than they were five seasons ago (£426). Everton has announced that they will keep the ticket prices same for the 2018-19 season too.

9. Newcastle United – 473

Despite their promotion ,Newcastle United froze their season ticket prices for 2017-18 season, close to 38,000 Newcastle United fans were able to renew their existing season tickets at no extra cost. That is reflected at the gate, where Newcastle are England’s seventh-best supported team. Their average 52,126 attendance is higher than the likes of Chelsea and Everton, and only West Ham United fill their ground better (99.9 percent to the Magpies’ 99.5 percent of capacity).

There was a slight increase in season-ticket prices, between 2% and 5% across various areas of the Amex for the 2017-18 season, with the cheapest one being made available only for renewal of the existing customers.

7. Manchester United – 532

Manchester United froze their season ticket prices for a sixth consecutive year. The club also offered reductions for the 2017-18 season for young season ticket holders. The seventh price-freeze in eight years saw season ticket prices start from £532 for adults.

6. Southampton – 541

SAINTS announced their season ticket prices for the 2017/18 campaign – with more than 2,000 seats reduced in cost and all other prices frozen. Under-11s got a season ticket for just £50 – which works out at less than £3 per game – while under-18s could secure a seat for less than £8 a match. It also meant that the combined price for an adult and an under-11 came in as low as £591 for the season.

5. Bournemouth – 550

AFC Bournemouth also frozed their season ticket and matchday ticket prices for the 2017/18 season for the third year running. The cheapest adult season ticket remained at £550, with the lowest adult home matchday ticket priced at £32.

4. Tottenham – 645

Tottenham’s cheapest season ticket for the season cost £645 ,which is quite cheaper than the other two big London clubs. Tottenham reduced their prices for the season tickets in order to welcome fans to their temporary new stadium – Wembley. Prices for tickets at the new stadium – which is expected to open for the 2018/19 season – have not yet been announced.

3. Liverpool – 685

Even though Liverpool’s most popular(also most expensive) season ticket costs £869 , you can buy the cheapest one for just £685. The cheapest season ticket gives a seat in the Kop stand ,while a seat in the main stand and Kenny Dalglish stand cost £869.

2. Chelsea – 750

Chelsea freezed the price of every ticket at Stamford Bridge for the 2017/18 campaign. The price freeze meant that Chelsea fans who sit in the regular home areas at Stamford Bridge paid the same as they did in the 2011/12 campaign – meaning that prices have not changed in 10 of the last 12 years.

Arsenal lowered their season-ticket prices after the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League. Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last season, missing out on Champions League football for the first time since 1997.

Whilst Arsenal have frozen season ticket prices until at least the 2018-19 season the club did raise Platinum member prices by three per cent for 2017-18.
