PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON TICKET PRICES 2016-17

With the cost of football in England nothing short of extortionate compared to model sides Bayern Munich and Barcelona, we countdown the cheapest sides to watch this year in the Premier League.

20.Arsenal

It’s no secret that Arsenal, year on year are the most expensive side to watch, and it is no different for the 2016-17 season. A season ticket at The Emirates starts at a whopping £1,035, almost £300 more expensive than any other Premier League side.

Its a bit unfair by Arsenal towards its supporters,to put this price into perspective, that would have seen you pay about £86.25 for each win Arsenal achieved at home last season (12).

19.Tottenham

Arsenal’s north London rivals Spurs are in 2nd place.Spurs have frozen their prices for 2016-17. Considering they have Champions League football this coming season the £765 that their fans have to pay for a season ticket isn’t horrific,although, a price-cut would have been nicer.

18.Liverpool

Liverpool have reduced their season ticket prices by £25 for the upcoming season with a season ticket setting you back £685. There will be no European football at Anfield next season, which explains the cut.

17.Chelsea

Chelsea’s season tickets stand at £750 for the upcoming season, indifferent to last year’s amount.With no European football this season, new manager Antonio Conte will hope that this will clear the calendar and give him a clear path to the Premier League title to justify that price.

16.Southampton

Another season for Southampton, another new manager. The fans experiencing the club constantly changing must almost be like a second-nature to them now  on the coast.Despite last season’s successes, there has been no price increase on season tickets at St Mary’s with fans paying a little over £580 to watch their side. With the South Coast outfit going under a revamp, it remains to be see whether this fee will be worth it.

15.Middlesbrough

Back in the Premier League after an absence of 7 years, have caused them to raise their season ticket prices by £110 from when they were in The Championship last season.Their cheapest season ticket is priced at £570.Fans will hope that Premier League safety is secured to support that investment.

14.Bournemouth

After a very impressive season – quashed by only that of the achievement of Leicester City, Bournemouth have frozen their season ticket prices for the new season.

It will cost £550 to watch the Cherries battle another season in the Premier League.

13.Manchester United

Prices for the season tickets at Old Trafford are same as they were last season, with the cheapest ticket marked at just over £530. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on show and Jose Mourinho in the dugout, the demand will be there to watch the Red Devils.

The toffees have cut their season ticket prices by £36.It will cost £515 for the fans to see Ronald Koeman try and revive one of the most respected clubs in the league.

11.Watford

The Hornets have also frozen their prices for 2016-17, which is great to see after a fantastic season last year. Watford never came close to relegation under Quique Sanchez Flores, but with the extraordinary news of him being sacked, it will be a tough ask for the experienced Walter Mazzarri to repeat it. A season ticket at Vicarage Road will cost £505, but this is a club who could finish in the top half next season, but also could get relegated.

10.Crystal Palace

After Palace’s dodgy flirt with relegation last season, they have decided to cut their season ticket prices. This season it will cost fans just £420, which is a decrease of £80 from last season. Alan Pardew has a core in his team to build on, and that potential was shown in flashes last season. They did in fact start the season superbly, and of course made it to the FA Cup Final.

9.Swansea

A season ticket at the Liberty Stadium costs £419.

The club went through some radical changes last season, but with Guidolin nailed on to the lad the side, the club can only build on their 12th place finish last year.

8.West Brom

Football at the Hawthorns may not be the best standard in the league and perhaps far from it. However, at least the fans can have comfort in their season ticket prices costing just £399.

 

7.Leicester City

Champions Leicester City have welcomed Champions League football to the King Power next season, and look to build on their success.

The club’s season ticket prices have stayed the same from last season, costing £395 for a new buyer.Foxes fans will hope that some big name signings will be the icing on the cake this year.

6.Burnley

Season tickets at Turf Moor will cost £390, exactly the same as what it costs for fans last year in the Championship.They’ll be doing their best to ensure the team don’t go straight back down again.

 

5.Sunderland

Big Sam steered a side clear of relegation once again, but as current favourite for the England job, Sunderland fans will be worried about the future of their club. They needn’t be concerned about season tickets at the Stadium of Light though, with prices rising by just £10 to £380 for this season. If Big Sam is to stay, he will look to try and take them into the top half, like he did at Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham.

4.Manchester City

The price you pay to watch talents such as Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva could cost a big amount, but Manchester City’s season tickets cost the amazingly low sum of £299.Isn’t great?

This is the price every club should aim for, so well done to Manchester City,this is the example that the other clubs should follow.

3.Stoke City

Season ticket prices start at less than £295 to watch the Potters, but with Mark Hughes altering the Stoke model, this price looks very appealing, and it is a whopping decrease of around £100 from last season.

2.West Ham United

By far the most drastic change in any side in this list. West Ham make their move to the Olympic stadium this season, bidding farewell to the Boleyn GroundAnother thing they can bid farewell to is a high season ticket price, as the Hammers have reduced the price of a season ticket by £328.50.

A season ticket now costs £289,, an unbelievable figure!

1.Hull City

After winning promotion straight back to the Premier League via the play-offs, it’s not a massive surprise that Hull City are the cheapest season ticket going at just over £250. That said, Steve Bruce does have some great players to work with, and the owners showed they were not scared to spend money the last time they were in the top flight.
