There are very few teams since the inception of the Premier League in 1992 that have concluded more transfer activity than Manchester City.Some of those signings were hits,some of those were flops.Let us have a look at few top Man City signings of all time.

8.CARLOS TEVEZ

Man City signed Carlos Tevez from cross-town arch rivals Man Utd in the summer of 2009.Tevez was given no.32 shirt , just as he was at Manchester United and West Ham. After signing Tevez, Manchester City erected a blue ‘Welcome to Manchester’ billboard with Tevez in the background.Tevez led the team to FA Cup glory in 2011,and the league title in 2012.He become the first player to score 50 goals in the Premier League for Man City.He overall scored 59 goals in the 97 apps for City in the League.

7.GEORGIE KINKLADZE

On 15th July 1995, Kinkladze signed for Manchester City from Dinamo Tbilsi.The fee was generally reported as £2 million.He made his City debut against Spurs in 1-1 draw on 19th August 1995. His dribbling ability and spectacular goals made him a cult hero, winning the club’s Player of the Year award in two consecutive seasons. Kinkladze stayed with Manchester City despite relegation in 1996.He is still remembered among City fans very vividly.

6.YAYA TOURE

On 2 July 2010, Touré signed a five-year deal with Premier League club Manchester City for a fee of around £24 million and was allocated squad number 42, which is the reverse of the number 24 jersey he sported at Barcelona, since Patrick Vieira had already been allocated that number.Since then Toure has been influential in the midfield for Man City and has helped the team out of hole in many occasions.In his 181 apps he has scored 53 goals for the club,winning two league titles,a FA Cup and a League Cup.

5.UWE ROSLER

Man City signed Uwe Rosler from FC Nurberg after a succesful short loan spell in 1994 for a fee reported to be around £500000.In his 169 app for the club he managed to score an impressive 65 goals. In an FA cup match in 1994-1995 season, against Notts County he scored four goals, becoming the first Manchester City player to score four in an FA Cup tie since Johnny Hart in 1953. His performances that season meant he was the club’s leading goalscorer, and he won the club’s Player of the Year award.The German is regarded as a legend by the Sky blues.

Man City signed Joe Hart from Shrewsburry Town in 2006. It was reported at the time that City were to pay an initial £600,000 fee for Hart.Since then he went on loan to clubs like Tranmere Rovers,Blackpool and Birmingham City.In his 250+ apps for the clubs he has produced many match winning perfomances.He won the golden glove award 4 times.

Vincent Jean Mpoy Kompany is the Current Man City captain.He was signed from Hamburg in the summer of 2008 by then Man City manager,Mark Hughes for a fee reported to be around  £6 million.Since then he has been the back-bone of the Man City line-up.Kompany guided the team to their first ever Premier League Trophy in 2011-12 season. Vincent Kompany ‘City loves you more than you know’ is one of the famous chants at the Etihad.

One of the best ever to wear the Man City’s jersey,Sergio Aguero was signed in the summer of 2011 from Atlético Madrid for a fee reported to be around £38,000,000 by manager Roberto Mancini.He is the highest goalscorer of Man City,with over 100 goals in all competitions.He is well remembered for his stoppage time winner against QPR in 2012,that snatched away the title from rivals Man Utd.Agüero’s goal sent the Etihad Stadium into a frenzy and he was dragged to the floor jubilantly by his City team-mates. Vincent Kompany recalled that Agüero was crying on the floor.
