Huddersfield Vs Chelsea : Preview, Team News, Predicted Lineups & More
The new season of Premier League is going to begin this weekend. Huddersfield Town will welcome Chelsea at John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday in their first match of the season. Chelsea finished in the fifth position last season and Huddersfield Town just managed to survive relegation.
After finishing outside top four in the Premier League, Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte was sacked. The club management have brought the ex Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri. Under the management of Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea are expected to play a new brand of football in this season. But, they were totally outclassed by the Premier League title holders Manchester City in the Community Shield match in the previous week. The manager has asked the fans to keep patience at the early stage.
Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner will be confident to face Chelsea in the Premier League opener as they have defeated the Blues in the penultimate match of the Premier League of the previous season. The match should be entertaining as both the teams will try to begin the new season with a win.

Huddersfield Town :
Danny Williams will not be in the match day squad of Huddersfield Town as he is having an ankle injury problem. Elias Kachunga will be available for selection as he is now fully fit to start for Huddersfield Town against Chelsea in the Premier League opener. Huddersfield Town have signed few players in this summer transfer window. Both the newcomers, Adama Diakhaby and Erik Durm will probably start for Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
David Wagner had preferred to play with a 5-3-2 formation. So,he might wish to continue with this formation in this season too. Ramadan Sobhi, Alex Pritchard, Florent Hadergjonaj and Laurent Depoitre are likely to sit on the bench against the Blues on Saturday.
Chelsea :
Chelsea have recently brought two new key players in their squad. The Blues have signed the 23 year old Spanish Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga with a transfer fee worth £71.5 million from Athletic Bilbao. The club management of the Blues identified him as the perfect replacement of Thibaut Courtois. Mateo Kovacic has also come to Chelsea with an one season loan option as a part of the deal of Thibaut Courtois. Both of them might be in the bench against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Cesar Azpilicueta will start as the right back and Marcos Alonso is going to be the left back for the Blues in the match against Huddersfield Town as they are shifting to a 4-3-3 formation from the 3-4-3 one under the management of Maurizio Sarri. Victor Moses might have to sit in the bench along with Danny Drinkwater and Ruben Loftus Cheek on Saturday. The 17 year old winger Callum Hudson Odoi has shown his potential in the preseason matches; but Willian and Pedro are most likely to start at both the flanks for the Blues against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League opener.
